Yoland Brown has kindly allowed us to link to her comprehensive Ruyton XI towns history articles.

In Yoland 1986 researched and wrote a book about the history of our village, RUYTON XI TOWNS - Unusual Name, Unusual History. In the 38 years since, she has done more research but Irena White, who came to the village a decade ago, has done more extensive research.

Between them, they have so many stories to tell that they thought they should be available to anyone interested in the history of our village, so a website has been created and they will continue to add stories.

Since the 700th anniversary of Ruyton's Borough Charter in 2008, the Ruyton XI Towns Local History Society has been formed and Yoland has collected a list of Local History Keepers who know about specialist subjects and also surrounding villages.

Contributions to the eleventowns website will be very welcome.
